4 easy steps to affordable
Radiant Heat
Luxury:

Step 1 Prep Work*

Step 2 Install Radiant Heat Cables

Step 3 Connect Thermostat*

Step 4 Install Tile

* Prep Work if subfloor is not concrete. If wood subfloor use Durock or HardiBacker Board to level your floor and to install electric radiant heating cable over the Durock or HardiBacker Board.

* Connect Thermostat it is always recommended that you may want to use a licensed electrician to connect and check your wiring.

How soon after installation can I switch the system on? The heater should not be made fully operational until such time as the tile or concrete installer has confirmed that the cement materials (i.e. adhesive & grout) are fully cured. This may be anything from 1 - 3 weeks. Turning the system on too early could lead to the cement drying out too quickly, creating an unstable sub floor.

What is Radiant Heat?
Radiant Heat is transferred in two main ways – by convection or radiation. The typical home heating system relies upon convection heating whereby air is heated and circulates around a room heating what it touches. Radiant heat transfers directly to the body and is considered the most comfortable form of heat.

What are Radiant Heating Methods?
Radiant Heating Methods include hydronic, air ducting, and electric. In hydronic systems water is heated by almost any utility including gas, propane, oil, electricity, solar etc and pumped through pipes installed in-floor. Electric systems most usually use conductive wiring installed under tiling to create warm tiles and are usually less expensive to install than hydronic systems.

What is Under Floor Heating?
Under Floor Heating systems are installed “under” the floor below stone or ceramic tiling. This method of heating allows air to rise by convection and also creates warm tiles (ceramic underfloor heating) which produce radiant heating. The result is that under floor heating produces a "kind" heat with less overheating for warm toes and a cool head.

What are Radiant Heating Systems?
Radiant Heating Systems are the gentlest form of heat as they heat the body directly warming from the toes up. Conventional convection heating systems overheat the head as hot air rises, radiant heating systems keep the whole body warm without overheating the head.

What are Home Heating Systems?
The main home heating systems are powered by gas, electricity, or oil/coal and are either “radiant” or “central”. In a central heating system heat transfer is achieved mainly by air convection whereas in a radiant system objects are warmed directly in the same way that the sun works. Warmup radiant heating systems offer the most comfortable heating system warming you more naturally from the toes up and keeping a cool head.

What is Electric Radiant Heat?
A form of home heating system whereby conductive materials are installed within a building and heated by electricity producing heat in a form that is transferred directly to the building contents (including people) efficiently without overheating the surrounding air.

What Does Radiant Heat Feel Like?
Have you ever strolled along Hawaiian beach and felt the warm sand underneath your feet? Have you touched a mug Coffee or Hot Chocolat that was warm because of the hot drink inside? If so, then you've felt radiant heat. Objects absorb radiant heat until they are the same temperature as the heat source, after which the heat slowly escapes to whatever mass is colder and closer.
